In this part we will learn how we can monatize our websites. I hope already you have heard of Google Adsense! Google Adsense is Google’s world famous CPC ad system that allows webmasters to publish Cost-Per-Click Ads and also they can earn money from their websites. AdSense is a diverse publisher program which uses the page’s content to decide which ads will be displayed on that page. That means it will show ads related to your website content or text so that you will get more targeted visitors’ clicks.

For example, if you have a website related to “Dogs” and your site is full of “Dog” related content, when you will put Google Adsense code, it will show all the “Dogs” related ads on your site. Simple!!

You can sign up with Google Adsense program here. But before you go there to sign up, make sure your website is content rich and meets all standards for a website, otherwise they may not accept you.

There are many other CPC ad publishing companies such as “Adbrite.com“, “Exoclick.com” etc. but Google proved to be the most successful among all of them. You should try some of them and make your decision which one works better for you.

Don’t forget to read the TOS at Google Adsense site and make sure you follow all the rules properly. Google is very sensitive and if you break any of these terms and conditions, your account will be banned at once. The rules are not so tough, just a few things like -

You should NEVER click on your own ads

You CANNOT ask people to click on your ads

and so on…

Monetizing a website is easy but it doesn’t mean your site will start earning money from the next hour. There are many guidelines how you can put Adsense on your site and receive more clicks but the main goal is to receive as much visitor as you can. Because the more visitors you receive, the more chances you will get a click on Adsense and make some money.

We will discuss more on Google Adsense in our future articles but for now you should just sign up with them and start using in your websites. Thus you will be familiar with the Adsense program and which will help you in future.

There are several other ways for monetizing your website such as Selling Text Links, Selling Banner Space etc. but for them you will need an established site with thousands of visitors. When you want somebody to buy banner space or text links on your site, they will ask for your website stats so traffic is a must. Also Backlinks and Google Page Rank plays important role in this game. We will soon be learning about them too.
